The Gap Fire Company has mailed out our 2010 Membership Drive letters. The Fire Company depends on the donations of the community for the majority of our operating expenses. We are a non-profit volunteer organization, and all donations are tax deductible. We also offset our operating expenses by holding fundraisers and applying for grant assistance as well.
In 2009, the fund drive letters came back with a 24 percent return rate. Unfortunately, this means that less than a quarter of the property owners in our coverage area made donations to the fire company. We obviously recognize that in these uncertain economic times, a donation of money may be hard to give. As your friends and neighbors, we also feel the strain, but would urge you to try and give what you can. No amount is to small, and each and every donation is appreciated.
If you would like to donate, but have not received a fund drive letter, please contact us via phone or email. If a monetary donation is not possible, but you would still like to give to the Gap Fire Company, please check out our "Volunteers Needed" section. By giving of your time, there are plenty of ways to assist in a non-monetary way.
