Truck 42 Assists Chester Station 8
Author:Weston Graybill
Mon, Mar 23rd, 2020 10:04:00 am -
On March 23rd shortly after 10 am, Truck 42 was dispatched for a chimney fire in the 200 block of South Limestone Road. Truck 42 made the response with 6. Truck 42 arrived on scene and went to work assisting Ladder 8's crew in the basement. Crews took apart the horizontal piece of stove pipe to find it full of creosote  with active fire. Crews assisted with cleaning out the fire box and monitoring interior conditions along the chimney with a thermal imaging camera. Crews remained on scene for 45 minutes.

Soon after getting dispatched for the Chester County Chimney fire, a second call came in for an automatic fire alarm. With crews already at station Engine 421 made a very quick response. Automatic alarm was found to be a false activation.
